Innovative Bus Shelter for Smart Cities

Cristina Côrtes, Danielle Garcia and Rayra Lira.

Have you ever wondered how great the number of bus shelters in a megalopolis is? And how these shelters can become multifunctional urban facilities and contribute to more sustainable and resilient cities? Thousands of these small spaces are distributed throughout cities, often underused, uncomfortable, and not properly performing their functions towards the benefit of the population. We believe it is time to repurpose these bus shelters by transforming them into multifunctional urban equipment which will become part of an integrated solution for cities and will be able to positively contribute to the environment and the well-being of its users – passengers and pedestrians alike.

That is why we developed a project that links the beauty of contemporary design with high technology and, above all, sustainability. It comprises of vegetation coverage to reduce the heat island effect; a rain garden for flood prevention; a led panel integrated with IoT (Internet of Things) technology for advertising; a bike rack for the integration of transportation; organic solar panels for lighting and recharging cell phones; as well as a battery collection post.

Our potential partners are public managers, along with companies specializing in OOH (out-of-home) marketing.
We are convinced that companies adept to ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) practices will ensure to advertise on urban equipment with such distinguishment. There will be millions of users associating these respective advertising brands with sustainable practices.

Does this make sense for your city or company? Then invest in our project! Have your company’s name directly linked to the future of smart and sustainable cities!

GARDEN GALLERY

The project by the landscape architect, Adriana Mavignier, called “Garden Gallery”, is not just a garden space, but a plaza, with a thematic garden, impregnated with deeper meanings and symbols, a path in the mind and conscience.

The creation of a space where nature mixes with art, creating an engaging and interactive project.

Within the design and concept of the project, beautiful sculptures mirror the beauty of nature and its surroundings, creating an inspiring harmony. Some others, created with reuse wood, from burning and deforestation, raise awareness of environmental preservation. Others, created with raw materials such as metals, steel and marble, when integrated with the lightness of the garden lighting, incredibly remove these materials softness, leading the observer to become aware of the passage of time and human impermanence.

The design of objects, benches and lamps complement and harmonize the project, blending into the entire landscape. These pieces refer to the creativity of light forms, showing that the mind needs to be nourished and cared for, to flourish constantly.
