DREAMING IN NEW YORK

On View: Nov 2–8 2022

Drawing influences from the contemporary urban energy of New York City, artists from Miguel Santana’s Madrid collection find a powerful expression within the walls of Saphira & Ventura in the heart of Midtown Manhattan. The collection, featuring Santana’s distinctive works from his gallery, highlights the works of two great cities. Curated by Miguel Santana and Alcinda Saphira, the gallery is happy to invite locals and visitors to Saphira & Ventura Gallery located on 4 W 43rd St. Suite #416 on Wednesday, November 2nd, from 6:00pm to 8:30pm.

Saphira & Ventura Gallery welcomes the iconic works of Miguel Santana Gallery, as well as presents artists of their own collection such as:

ALONSO DE SOUSA , ANA C. MEJÍA, BLANCA MARTÍ, FEDERICO ECHEVARRÍA, GRACIA RAMÍREZ, JOSÉ AUQUILLA, JOSÉ DOMÍNGUEZ, MARIA DE FRANCISCO “SALCES”, MARIAN LORENZO RÍOS, MIHAI BARA, PAULINO L. TARDÓN, ROSA MORENO DE CASTRO, BRINTON FARRAND

We also present the phygital (physical and digital) works of the established contemporary German artist Anna Hopfensberger. The imagination and liveliness in her works capture audiences of all backgrounds. Her brushstrokes bring to life the unique characters she creates. In the works of Brinton Farrand, the viewer is transported into a world of surrealism and captivating imagery, drawing a lofty inspiration from music and the works of the old masters. While in the abstract works of Blanca Marti, the viewers experience the serenity of soft colors with a focus on sharp textures.

These works, together with the highlights of the Santana collection, will be on display. More information can also be found in the gallery’s social media.

ANNA HOPFENSBERGER | Mini Solo

Throughout her career, Anna Hopfensberger has been an artist whose creativity has developed complex, unique figures. Her works, recently exhibited in Venice, have been a favorite, not only for their jovial quality, but also for pushing boundaries in terms of technique. Hopfensberger’s versatile technique allows her to illustrate imaginative, provocative narratives.

A master of bold brushstroke, colors, and symbols, Hopfensberger portrays the inner workings of her mind onto the canvas. Hopfensberger has often heard that, “to paint.. it is like to love again, but I think it is rather to learn to love someone truthfully… as it opens the heart and lets the rivers flow…”

Hopfensberger’s works will be exhibited for the second time, her debut being in 2019 with phenomenal feedback.
