Behruz Bahadoori | Mar 31 – Apr 10 2023

Behruz Bahadoori | Solo Exhibition

Nature has rid itself of man in the profound landscapes of Bahadoori, an Austrian painter whose refined masterpieces on bridges together the untenable beauty of nature and the artist’s desire to manifest it. In this upcoming collaboration between Saphira & Ventura and Gallery Steiner, guests will be presented with several of the artist’s works, curated by Alcinda Saphira and Corinne Steiner.

Growing up by the rich Caspian sea, Behruz Bahadoori eventually got his studies done in Tehran before leaving his country during the pivotal year of 1979 to go to Vienna, to continue his studies. After several years, he began assisting the famous artist Gottfried Helnwein, learning different techniques in his atelier in Germany.

Later on, Bahadoori began his artistic work as an independent artist, developing his own technique on aquarelle colours, oil and acrylic. He has shown his works in the Austrian Cultural Centre at the Palace Pálffy and is currently showing with the Gallery Steiner. At first sight, one might be tempted to quickly classify Behruz Bahadoori’s work as neo-Impressionistic and yet his paintings are places of catharsis. His depersonified use of allegory and symbolism do not appear as the result of an extensive search, but rather, as innocent discoveries. As one strolls through Bahadoori’s pictures, one notices that he depicts a biologically-oriented gentleness, as nature suggests. Among other practices, Bahadoori also realizes portrait paintings as ordered works in which his signature style of bleding reality with illusion is incorporated.

Saphira & Ventura is a global talent management network focused on art, design and architecture as well as alternative forms of expression such as NFTs, its mission is to promote and exhibit cutting edge artists, designers and architects in a contemporary and alternative setting.
