Innovative Bus Shelter for Smart Cities

Cristina Côrtes, Danielle Garcia and Rayra Lira.

Have you ever wondered how great the number of bus shelters in a megalopolis is? And how these shelters can become multifunctional urban facilities and contribute to more sustainable and resilient cities? Thousands of these small spaces are distributed throughout cities, often underused, uncomfortable, and not properly performing their functions towards the benefit of the population. We believe it is time to repurpose these bus shelters by transforming them into multifunctional urban equipment which will become part of an integrated solution for cities and will be able to positively contribute to the environment and the well-being of its users – passengers and pedestrians alike.

That is why we developed a project that links the beauty of contemporary design with high technology and, above all, sustainability. It comprises of vegetation coverage to reduce the heat island effect; a rain garden for flood prevention; a led panel integrated with IoT (Internet of Things) technology for advertising; a bike rack for the integration of transportation; organic solar panels for lighting and recharging cell phones; as well as a battery collection post.

Our potential partners are public managers, along with companies specializing in OOH (out-of-home) marketing.
We are convinced that companies adept to ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) practices will ensure to advertise on urban equipment with such distinguishment. There will be millions of users associating these respective advertising brands with sustainable practices.

Does this make sense for your city or company? Then invest in our project! Have your company’s name directly linked to the future of smart and sustainable cities!

SEA AND FISH

Ostap Patyk exhibits an emotional reflection of reality which focuses on the beauty of the world. Patyk’s projects are composed of mosaic murals. The basis of Patyk’s composition is the transformation of marine flora and fauna in a modern style.

Sea and Fish shows two main directions: one is an emotional reflection of reality with a focus on the beauty of the world, and the other is a philosophical rethinking of the world. The basis of Patyk’s composition is the transformation of marine flora and fauna in a modern style.

Patyk was born on 6 November, 1964 in Lviv, Ukraine. Patyk has been working in the field of private and public interior design. The most famous design projects: Restaurant “Beijing”, Ternopil; Club “Yucatan” Lviv; projects and decoration of more than 20 private residential complexes.

SCHOOL FOR AUTISTIC TEENAGERS

Tufi Mousse presents a School for Autistic Teenagers, where architecture and aesthetic appeal become fundamental to generate the sensory environment and raise the intuitive sense of children with special needs. This project shows new architectural forms for autistic children.

DUALITY ART DIVISORY

Juca Maximo seeks to promote the innovative concept of the world’s first art Duality Art Divisory, where artworks are an integral part of the environment.

GARDEN GALLERY

The project by the landscape architect, Adriana Mavignier, called “Garden Gallery”, is not just a garden space, but a plaza, with a thematic garden, impregnated with deeper meanings and symbols, a path in the mind and conscience.

The creation of a space where nature mixes with art, creating an engaging and interactive project.

Within the design and concept of the project, beautiful sculptures mirror the beauty of nature and its surroundings, creating an inspiring harmony. Some others, created with reuse wood, from burning and deforestation, raise awareness of environmental preservation. Others, created with raw materials such as metals, steel and marble, when integrated with the lightness of the garden lighting, incredibly remove these materials softness, leading the observer to become aware of the passage of time and human impermanence.

The design of objects, benches and lamps complement and harmonize the project, blending into the entire landscape. These pieces refer to the creativity of light forms, showing that the mind needs to be nourished and cared for, to flourish constantly.

Individualism is on the rise. People are connected with the digital world and forget that the best of life is in lively shared experiences. The project, “Sharing the Table” by Graziele de Souza, draws attention to the digital age in which we live, rescuing our essence and recognizing that we can be present in other people’s lives.

In the same way that the table object is complemented with chairs, each person feels complimented when they share existence around them. As a result, de Souza is able to respond to the theme “TIME SPACE EXISTENCE” while emphasizing what we share, what we have, and who we are.

Venice Architecture Biennial 2021

Interior designer Anna Persia’s proposal for the TIME SPACE EXISTENCE theme is Ephemeral Installation about creating a sensory path, space for human relationships. Anna believes that the space in which one lives contributes to one’s feeling of well-being.

Humans live tied to material and spaces that are invented to meet their needs, from the simplest to the most complex demands. Her project enables visitors to connect with the world around them through their senses.

People live in a technological world which does not allow them to profoundly connect with the space and others around them.

Anna Persia Bastos

Interior Designer since 2011, Ana Persia Bastos founded the company Studio Persia Interiores, in Rio de Janeiro – Brazil. Her first training comes from Psychology and Education, where she holds the title of Clinical / School Psychopedagogue and Teacher, creating a framework to act more intensively in projects aimed at the well-being and comfort of people.

Museum of Music & Colors

Museum of Music & Colors

Howard Zi Hao Qiu and Alan Ritchie

Saphira & Ventura Art Design Architecture
New York International Contemporary Art Society (NYICAS)
European Cultural Centre (ECC)
Venice Architecture Biennial 2021

“Color is light, time and space. Color is not the past, it is a continuous present.”

Howard Qiu’s painting music was inspired by the works and writings of Paul Klee and Wassily Kandinsky. It is based on a system in which the rhythm, melody and harmony of music are expressed through textures, colors and forms found in painting. He delves into the sensory commonalities between visual art and music by exploring the visual and auditory, organically linking the two senses, thereby expanding human perception in color, melody and rhythm. He has devised a unique coding system that he uses to embed a melody into each of his paintings.

His symphonies of color convey images, creative thoughts and emotions, but ultimately they are meant to inspire, connect humanity and elevate the human spirit in a universal, melodic and magical way.

Alan Ritchie, the design principal of PJ>AR Architects, P.C. worked with the iconic architect Philip Johnson for over 25 years. Johnson retired in 2004, and under Alan’s leadership, the firm has continued to maintain his legacy in creating projects that are both functional and aesthetically innovative. Alan views architecture as an art form cleverly crafting geometrical shapes and sculptural forms to create buildings into habitable sculptures; each building respectful of scale, proportion and meticulous detail in its appearance.

Based on Alan Ritchie’s thinking of “buildings as sculpture for living” and Howard Qiu’s painting music idea, they are collaborating to create a children’s museum that will feature Howard’s musical paintings which also use architectural forms and shapes. These paintings will be displayed in designated areas inside the museum enabling visitors to experience various musical genres. His painting music concept will also be utilized on the exterior of this colorful cutting edge complex.

The project offers children as well as adults a novel and simple way to learn, compose and interpret music in a place where painting music sets the tone for a harmonious and melodious co-existence.

East China Normal University (ECNU), founded in 1951, is one of China’s top research universities and is renowned for its teacher training and high level research in both basic and applied sciences.

In 2017, ECNU was selected into Class A of the World First Class University and First Class Academic Discipline Construction Program, an education initiative of the Ministry of Education aimed at developing elite Chinese universities into world class institutions by 2050.

Bienal AMA+ZÔNIA 2022

BIENAL AMA+ZÔNIA

at Venice Architecture Biennial 2021

Saphira & Ventura Art Design Architecture
New York International Contemporary Art Society (NYICAS)
European Cultural Centre (ECC)
Venice Architecture Biennial 2021

Preview of the 1st AMA + ZÔNIA 2022 Biennial will be presented at Venice Architecture Biennial 2021 exhibition — “Time Space Existence”

Patricia O’Reilly (Mirante do Gavião);
Meireles Junior (Amazon Mangroves);
Alexandre Mavignier (Giant Women);
Alexandre Mavignier (Amazon Tears);
Christoph Diewald (Ribeirinhos Photos);
Michael Schucht (Flying Rivers documentary)

Biennial AMA+ZÔNIA 2022, the first international biennial in the Amazon, will bring together national and international artists, designers and architects, in a forum for technical and scientific exchange. The event will include Brazilian and international artists, scientists, universities, civil society and indigenous organizations, as well as representatives of governments and national and international bodies that support the sustainability of the region.

The Amazon Biennial will create awareness on environmental issues as a basis for planetary survival.

Mirante do Gavião (Amazon Lodge)

Patricia O’Reilly and Armando Prieto, from Atelier O’R, are the creators of the architectural project “Mirante do Gavião Amazon Lodge” — A project that integrates community, sustainability, architecture & design.

Located in Novo Airão, distant 200 km from Manaus, the capital of Amazonas, has the panoramic view of the Black River facing the National Park of Anavilhanas. The idea was to develop an inspiring project that integrated community, sustainability, architecture and design, giving the community the opportunity to develop new talents, to increase local income, to promote social inclusion, to respect the environment and to integrate architecture interchange and nature. The cultural and the appreciation of local people has reached a place of extreme importance in the lives of the visiting public and the community, bringing the understanding of the value of the miscegenation of human beings in their greater capacity of learning.

Climatic, ventilation and sunshine studies were done to achieve the best bioclimatic design, seeking thermal comfort, cross ventilation, chimney effect for hot air scape, natural lighting and accessibility.

Lack of local capacity led to huge unemployment and low quality of life. The technology to build boats with wood, no longer allowed, was replaced by the technique of aluminum construction, not yet mastered. The arrival of the “Mirante do Gavião Amazon Lodge” promoted a paradigm shift through the construction of the Lodge as an inverted boat, merging with the local needs and offering new possibilities of income generation, development of new talents, respect and social justice, valuing their grassroots.

GIANT WOMEN

Alexandre Mavignier, shows the series Giant Women (“Mulheres Gigantes”), inspired by the extinction of the Ycamiabas Indian tribe, warrior giants, women without men whose history gave rise to the name Amazonas for the forest, river and Brazilian state, when in 1546 they massacred the Spanish fleet of Francisco Orellana.

The artist Alexandre Mavignier named CARBOGRAPHIA, the technique in which he uses earth and coals that collects Amazonian forest fires, to make his paints (protagonists) with which he paints on supports that he reconstructs reusing solid urban waste (antagonists).

Together, residues of burning life and urban rubble transformed into art, build the narrative of a transformative, surviving hope. The artist enshrines that the real work is what it is not, it is what it cannot fully say, it is what the image itself will never say about itself.

“The urgency of the presence of the other in art is urgent, it is of being, it is what builds and transforms.”
— Alexandre Mavignier

Amazon Tears (Lágrimas Amazônidas)

Alexandre Mavignier also presents Amazon Tears.

Mimetizing the flying rivers of the Amazon, a ceiling installation constructed with pieces of coals harvested from Amazonian ashes denouncing the violence of people against nature and themselves. It poses the idea that we are all involved together, whether we like it or not.

This new technique, named by the artist, CARBOGRAPHIA, uses ash residues of burned life to draw pictures and create other art forms.

Alexandre Mavignier, is a multidisciplinary artist. Whether transmuting lands from all over the planet to produce natural pigments for his canvasses and sculptures, or collecting urban demolition and construction waste that, micronized and transformed into paint, bring the tons of the city to his masterpieces’ reality, or even reusing waste from a life on fire, like the 994 coals from the Amazon rainforest used in the Amazon Tears work, the artist Alexandre Mavignier presents the themes related to his creations with enormous depth.

MANGUEZAIS RAÍZES MARANHENSES

Meirelles Junior, designer and photographer of the book “MANGUEZAIS RAÍZES MARANHENSES”, postulates that the area of mangroves in Maranhão state, produces more than 95% of the food that man catches from the coastal sea areas of the Amazon.

It’s vital for the ecosystem’s survival and the subsistence of the fishing communities that live there. His work shows the importance of mangroves as an exporter of organic matter to the estuary, contributing to primary productivity in the coastal zone.

The mangrove vegetation serves to fix the lands, thus preventing erosion and at the same time stabilizing the coast.

THE FLYING RIVERS

Michael Schucht, producer of the documentary “The Flying Rivers” focuses on the way the Amazon forest cools the earth.

A movement of large quantities of water vapor is transported in the atmosphere from the Amazon Basin to other parts of the planet. Without forest, no water; this gigantic water pump can no longer exist without the Amazon.

RIBEIRINHOS

Chris Diewald presents a series of photos of people living on the riverbanks in the Amazon Rain Forest. These people are called Ribeirinhos.

Instituto Favela da Paz

Instituto Favela da Paz

Atelier O’Reilly Architecture & Partners. Sustainable Strategies

Saphira & Ventura Art Design Architecture
New York International Contemporary Art Society (NYICAS)
European Cultural Centre (ECC)
Venice Architecture Biennial 2021

Patricia O’Reilly, architect and urban planner, author of the social project Instituto Favela da Paz (Favela da Paz Institute), located in São Paulo, in Jardim Angela, and thanks to the urban requalification of its area, allowed us to see the possibilities and open up new horizons in the art of architecture that has the main goal to shelter people in a space created by people. People sharing the same address in the universe.

Serving to create the world that we dream of…

The mission was to bring to the world of architecture, urbanism and art, tools and materials that helped shape the project in such a way that allows it to come together into something that gives its users the recognition that they seek. We entered the worlds of technology, art, and design, to project a way that impacts the “place” in a positive manner.

The requalification of the area becomes a precedent to be followed in other communities around the world. It integrates the urban space of the favela with that of the city through the restoration of sustainably designed public spaces. It also creates inputs that accelerate the education around sustainability. A main objective is to dismantle a dividing line that dooms everybody living on one side of it, with crippling discrimination. Using nature, architecture and art, this line starts to initially get blurred, until it ultimately ends up fading away completely, and with it, the discrimination that once existed.

The projects have already been done, our next step is to invite sponsors to make this utopia becomes reality.

The project is a requalification of the environment, sustainability, healthiness, social inclusion and training of manpower. It recreates the microcosm in a living building with visceral, cultural, technological, gastronomical, ecological, artistic and true content. Together with the favela community they create: architecture, art, urban furniture, design and knowledge. The goal is to meet the desires of this organization that can change the inner world of everyone involved.

The urban revitalization project and the new building of the Favela da Paz Institute becomes a model for replication in several places.

Located at South region of São Paulo, Brazil, the main goal of the Project is to strengthen Favela da Paz Institute, offering a cultural, educational, artistic and a revenue generator place.
The urban upgrading and the building itself reach all the community in several age range, enhancing knowledge, bringing peace and expanding the existing Institute project.
It is the door that reaches social justice, transforming it into a multiplying agent of sustainability, technology, art and love.

The Path of Consciousness

The Path of Consciousness

Neil Kerman, Antonio Spinosa, Nicolas Fiedler, Samuel Garcia, Edo Rocha, Jean Sardinha, Ricardo D’acundo

Saphira & Ventura Art Design Architecture
New York International Contemporary Art Society (NYICAS)
European Cultural Centre (ECC)
Venice Architecture Biennial 2021

Neil Kerman, Antonio Spinosa, Nicolas Fiedler, Samuel Garcia, Edo Rocha, Jean Sardinha and Ricardo D’acundo, present their project: “The Path of Consciousness”. Art has always been an inseparable companion of architecture. In their project, the works of a visual artist, a designer and an architect, represent how Kerman reveals his sensitivity as a master of abstract chemistry. The Path of Consciousness is developed by five creative minds. It’s a collaboration among Neil Kerman’s paintings, the sculptural vision of Antonio Spinosa, the structural design of Nicolas Fiedler, the graphics of the architect Samuel Garcia and the reference of Edo Rocha’s stadium architecture.

The Path of Consciousness represents the connection between art, architecture and design, through the perfection of form and function. The concept is materialized by Kerman’s art by beautifying both Edo’s stadium and the sculpture created by Spinosa, Nicholas and Samuel.

Neil Kerman

Neil Kerman was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, where he now creates his art not far from the world-famous Coney Island, crediting the multi-faceted borough.
He is truly honored that he was also invited to exhibit his art around the world including Spain, Switzerland, England, France, Singapore, Hong Kong, Brazil and Monaco. In addition, it was his astounding privilege to have his works exhibited at the Louvre in Paris, France.

Antonio Spinosa

Antonio Spinosa’s carbon steel sculpture is graphic. This phrase would be absurd, if written in the 19th century; and immediately contested. This is because until the 20th century, sculpture was a volumetric form in space. The artist calls a series of his sculptures Fitas, others the series is Laços or Chamas, but the sculpture graphically traverses space, often such sculptural graphics form enigmas on the wall, like copper sheets, until they become illuminated panels. Finally, Spinosa’s graphic sculpture reached the ceiling, as it did in the decorated environment of Casa Cor, in an Architecture project.

Nicolas Fiedler

Nicolas Fiedler is the Creative Director of Fiedler Engineering, Advanced Design Researcher of e-Dau Institute and Consultant of Fiedler Institute of Tensile Structure Technology. Nicolas sees the future on the shoulders of his ancestors and understand that parametric, intelligent design can solve problems that didn’t even exist in the past. In the project The Path of Consciousness his design purpose was to create an atemporal structure, so genuine that can be installed anywhere, even in another planet, and still make you reflect on that specific environment.

Samuel Garcia

Samuel Garcia is an architect and one of the partners of Studio Papaya, a creative studio based in São Paulo, Brazil, founded in 2015. The work developed by the studio encompasses different areas of activity and project scales, divided in three fields that complement each other: Architecture, Design and Visual Arts. From developing autoral projects to collaborating with renowned architects and designers, the studio acquired important recognition in its projects. The believes behind Papaya ́s works is that ideas deserve attention to the smallest details, that every idea can be translated into a project, have a history, an identity, become reality.

New York, NY March 28__In the vast metropolitan culture of New York, various meanings can be dismantled and deconstructed. In its newest exhibition, Saphira & Ventura Gallery presents a collective touching on five artists. Guests will have the opportunity to see the fine conceptual pieces by Hijo Nam, an artist based in South Korea who experiments with various materials, ranging from wood, steel, oil, acrylic, and other mediums. Nam’s pieces have recently been exhibited in Dubai and Palm Beach where her works were received with a warm reception. Hyper-realist, Paolo Terdich, will also be exhibited. Having an exhibition in Venice during the Biennale in 2019, Terdich’s pool works have proven to be popular in the United States as well, along with his still life works. The exhibition will also incorporate the works in their non-fungible token (NFT) format; introducing various artists to the ascending crypto market. This has been the case with the work of Quebec-based artist, Aro, an abstract expressionist artist who elicits gentle yet striking works of balanced abstract strokes in a duochromatic plane. The works in NFT format take the opportunity to play with these strokes and offer a synchronized harmonic balance between the different shapes and colors. In terms of figurative work, the paintings of Rachael Brown will be exhibited, works that illustrate a lush and vibrant floral setting. Her paintings, combining spring colors with a lively, almost performative, approach, reflect the strong inspirations the artist has. Her studio in Aberdeenshire and its nearby coastline, she is greatly influenced by the visual stimulation that surrounds her, such as the colors of the sea, sky, the beauty and tragedy of nature. Finally, the works of Swiss artist, Regula Margrit-Bill will be exhibited. Pieces with a smooth and opaque hue, encompassing a scenic aesthetic that shows the skills of the artist’s background in the School of Design in Bern, Switzerland. The exhibition is curated by Alcinda Saphira and is part of Saphira & Ventura commitment to showcasing the variety of talent in the fields of technology, art, and design.
